Research
CHAI will aim to develop a fully explainable causal AI platform specifically addressing unique challenges from healthcare across prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
Our belief is that to move AI forward, we need to build models incorporating both theory and observation. This will create models that are more transportable, explainable, fair, and of more direct relevance for decision support.
The hub co-develops research challenges with clinical experts, policy makers, and patients to address complex and heterogenous data structures, nuanced real-world problems, and a rapid pathway to societal and economic impact.
Innovation
Integrating solutions from CHAI research into the clinic to ensure maximum impact from deployed causal AI solutions is of utmost importance to the CHAI Hub.
CHAI will create opportunities to support increased adoption of causal AI, increased AI transparency, tools and upskilling, and policy development to ensure societal and economic impact. Industry participation is instrumental in accelerating adoption.
We will be running annual funding calls to support new projects that strengthen routes to market including collaboration with industry and end-users. We will be developing knowledge exchange opportunities and ensuring entrepreneurial support is available to accelerate opportunities.
Community
The CHAI Network will be at the heart of the hub to ensure community engagement and co-creation underpins all of our activities.
The CHAI Network will build an ecosystem for causal AI to ensure domain experts inform the science and develop impactful solutions.
This community will co-ideate, co-design, co-implement, and co-evaluate methods and use cases in a flexible programme embedding ethical, trusted and responsible innovation.
